Welcome, friends!

It seems a bit silly to welcome friends with this, the first post of this blog. But I am being optimistic that there will be people who eventually subscribe to my blog and go back to read about my journey from the inaugural post through the present day (whenever that might be!). So, welcome, friends.

I would like for you to join me as I embark upon a journey.

Actually, I have embarked upon this journey many times in the past and have not yet seen the summit of the mountain. And that, dear friends, is the point of this blog. I want to share my journey with that person out there reading this who might think that, because they have tried and not been successful with whatever task they've put in front of themselves, they are a failure. As Albert Einstein once said, "Failure is success in progress." And I 100% believe that to be true. Each time you fail, or that you perceive that you fail, you are merely learning a new pathway to success.

At first blush, this blog may simply be about a fitness and weight loss journey. And, yes, there will be a fair amount of blather about my workouts and my diet, especially as I continue to train for a half-marathon I have coming up. However, this blog isn't just about that. Here we will talk about all sorts of aspects of wellness. For me, that means being creative and thoughtful and kind. So we'll probably go down some Bob Ross or Mister Rogers-fueled tangents on our journey. There will be some discussion about self-care, about art journaling (and art in general), time management, and mental health.

I am not a doctor, and I do not pretend to be one, even on TV. LOL But I do want to share with you what I have learned over the past four decades regarding becoming healthy, happy, and content. I'm still a work in progress, and will continue to be so until someone throws dirt in my face. But while I am above ground, I intend to spend my time learning, growing, exploring....

You might find me a bit "new agey" for your tastes. And that's okay. But I'm not a strict adherent to Western Medicine. Nor am I one to eschew it, either. I will try to keep my political leanings to myself, but they will probably show themselves, regardless.

All that being said, welcome! Please feel free to leave me comments and ask questions if I've not been clear about something. We can all learn together, especially if we are respectful of one another's opinions, and that is all I ask that you be in comments: respectful.

So, let's get started, shall we?

Happy New Year! I'm Setting Goals for 2022

Well, friends, it has been a hot minute since I last posted on this blog. So I thought I would take the excuse that it is a new year to writ...
